Andrisoft Announces WANGuard 4.2 Software Release

WANGuard 4.2 corrects all known bugs and adds the following new features:
  • PF_RING support in the Sniffer for improved 10 Gbps traffic analysis. Only on Linux.
  • A new RAM storage method that allows generating graphs for hundreds of thousands of IP addresses.
  • RRDCache can now be used to speed up graphs updates. RRDCached must be previously installed & configured.
  • NetFlow Archive. Flows from selected interfaces can now be saved, displayed, searched, filtered and exported into Excel.
  • Improved automatic VLAN/MPLS support for the Sniffer.
  • Console now supports themes. 4 new themes added - Gray, Accessibility, Azenis & Ubuntu Human.
  • Console's West Panel renamed to Side Panel and can now be moved east.
  • A new Latest Events Widget.
  • Top N Talkers Widgets and Reports can now use DNS reverse lookups for IP addresses.
  • IP Zones and Thresholds Template Panels are now unified. A new Refresh IP Zone button.
  • A new Welcome screen that contains shortcuts to IP Zones and Sensors creation.

WANGuard 4.1 corrects all known bugs and adds the following new features:
  • FreeBSD 8 support
  • LDAP and Active Directory support for the users authentication
  • Events Reporting by email and syslog ( Configuration -> WANGuard Console -> Events Reporting ) for a better administration
  • DB Maintenance for better Console disk space management ( Configuration -> WANGuard Console -> Maintenance )
  • Scheduled Reports ( Configuration -> Scheduled Reports ) that allow clients to receive periodic reports with traffic graphs, traffic tops and traffic anomalies
  • Traffic Anomaly Tables and Logs can be exported in Excel format
  • The "All Sensors" options on various parts of the Console
  • New Filtering Policy Options for WANGuard Filter that will allow local filtering. Also a BGP Router is not longer required in this case.
  • 3 new Widgets ( time , license status and logged in users )
  • Automatic VLAN/MPLS support for the Sniffer

Andrisoft WANGuard Platform is an easy to use software that provides IP traffic monitoring, IP traffic accounting and optionally network protection against DoS, DDoS and DrDoS atacks. The supported traffic monitoring methods are: Port Mirroring ( Switched Port Analyzer - SPAN, Roving Analysis Port ), Network TAP, In-line Deployment, NetFlow, sFlow and Huawei NetStream. WANGuard Platform includes technologies found on Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Firewalls, Network Behavior Analysis, Network Perimeter Security, DDoS protection and traffic monitoring software.

It allows you to quickly and easily set up and run monitoring and filtering server(s) for networks. Using the integrated web interface, with just few mouse clicks you can view:

  • Historic and real-time network traffic parameters about the data flowing through router interfaces and switch ports ( packets/s, bits/s, bytes/s, IPs/s, flows/s etc. )
  • Extensive MRTG-style traffic graphs and traffic accounting reports for IP addresses and IP classes in your network for any time-frame, including 95th percentile for burstable billing.
  • Historic and real-time network traffic statistics ( top talkers per protocol, number of IPs, top protocols, protocols distribution, ASN distribution, TCP and UDP ports distribution etc. )
  • Historic and real-time recordings about the sources and destinations that use bandwidth above the acceptable limits
  • Per endpoint insightful report analytics and audit trail analysis for detected traffic anomalies
  • Historic and real-time information about DoS, DDoS and DrDoS attacks in your network

The recorded data is stored in an internal SQL database that can be easily queried and referenced. The recorded monitoring data can be viewed through a rich, Ajax-based web interface.

WANGuard 4.0 adds a brand new Web User Interface, performance improvements, sFlow support, 95th percentile, greatly improved traffic accounting and traffic graphs support, advanced permissions for user roles.
