Release Notes for Wanguard 8.5

Wanguard 8.5 introduces significant new features and enhancements, including:

• Every Sensor spawns dedicated anomaly-processing threads, each holding its own SQL connection, delivering true parallelism and a faster reaction during multiple attacks
• DPDK Capture Engine received a lot of enhancements and bug fixes, making it much more reliable, especially when dealing with multiple anomalies
• WANsupervisor uses multiple threads to execute internal and external commands which makes it more scalable on very loaded systems
• A new Performance field in the configuration of Packet Sensor, Flow Sensor and Sensor Cluster that aggregates the other performance-related parameters, including the number of threads
• IP Validation and AS Validation parameters used by Packet Sensor and Flow Sensor have clearer labels and grouping
• Added a new option in Configuration » Anomaly Detection that enables the logging of deduplicated anomalies
• Added a new decoder for GRE traffic (IP protocol 47), and decoders for IPv4 and IPv6 which are useful to distinguish the IP version in IP graphs
• The Display Options from Reports » Tools are saved between sessions
• A new Batch Actions selector for Reports » Tools » Packets » Active Packet Captures
• New REST API call for querying and downloading packet dumps
• New System-Wide Tokens {filtering_rules*}
• Added support for PF_RING 9.0.0
• Support for PF_RING multichannel when using Mellanox NICs
• Support for PHP 8.4
• Updated the AS Number database and the GeoIP data
• Other small enhancements and bug fixes
• Updated User Guide
