Using network cards such as Endace DAG 9.2X 10Gb that do capture off-load
Packet Sensor does not require a dedicated 10GbE card like the Endace DAG. It works very well with cheap NICs having the Intel 82599 chipset (Intel X520, Intel X540, others) that cost around 500 US$, have 2x10G ports, can balance the packets over 8 Packet Sensor instances running on 8 CPU cores, and support hardware-based packet filtering.
